1 Part Ferrari + 2 Part Hot Hatch= Fiat 500 Abarth Ferrari Dealers Edition

Fiat 500 Ferrari Edition

Ever wonder what would happen if Ferrari built a hot hatch of its own?  Well after getting confirmation that the prancing horse will never venture in the front wheel drive or SUV realm that thought was just a Forza 3 and Redbull fueled day dream, until now!

(Famed?) German tuner Pogea Racing have taken the Fiat 500 Abarth and direct injected it with Ferrari goodness in what they call the Fiat 500 Abarth Ferrari Dealers Edition (a mouthful of a name).  The dealer edition’s stock 165 hp wasn’t enough for the vaunted Ferrari name plate so Pogea Racing decided to add ooh… a 103 hp MORE cranking this menacing red hot hatch to 268 hp! That’s WRX trouncing power we’re talking about here people, in half the size! But they couldn’t stop there, in fact they couldn’t really stop at all until they slapped on a more powerful set of clampers that helped reduce braking distance by six feet.

On top of all of this amazing performance the Fiat 500 Abarth Ferrari Dealers Edition (it just rolls off the tongue) gets the full Ferrari treatment with Rosso red paint, Scuderia stripes and a smattering of Ferrari symbols all over the car.

Being complete hot hatch Euro-trash we have sent a petition to Washington demanding that this weapon of small mass destruction be sent to our shores! Fiat, who now owns Chrysler, has killed off the PT Cruiser (yeah, finally!) to produce the 500 on our shores for our market.  However, there’s no word yet on if we’ll be getting a similarly hopped up version. Luckily there’s the aftermarket which we’re sure will be flooded with similar 500 parts and modifications.

As much as I love the Fiat 500 Abarth, and I do love it, I think that the “Ferrari Dealers Edition” looks like a bit much. Maybe it’s the stripes, maybe it’s the weird looking vents in the hood, but it’s just too much.

That being said I would love to drive it!

I agree that it’s a bit over the top, but my hot hatch love can’t get past the possible performance this thing could throw down.

Maybe if was sans stripes and black, then maybe it would be more appealing?

Ahhhhhhhhhh! I LOVE IT! I don’t care if it is over the top. I actually saw the 1975 version: http://dailyderbi.com/autorama-2010-gives-us-the-coolest-car-ever/
