2013 Ford Shelby GT500 Configurator: To Each His Own

By | March 15, 2012

Ford has become known for being the interactive guru, both online, and in their vehicles.  With the right options ticked, your new Ford will park itself, keep your friends in social networks updated on whats new and tell you what restaurant has the best ratings.  Online, Ford has created one of the most involving car configuration platforms on the market.  It’s so versatile in fact that you can make what originally was attractive and make it down right vulgar.

The picture above is my attempt to make the new 2013 Shelby GT500 a hideous beast.  It’s booger green with magenta rims and chrome that should never accompany such colors.  I could have done worse but I began to feel queasy and chose not to add the flamboyant flames.  Nearly every color imaginable is available.

Boasting the worlds most powerful production V8, the upcoming Shelby is sure to be the neighborhood terror and with a base price of $54,995 it’s bargain basement performance .  For tire kickers, the Shelby claims to put out a solid 650 horsepower, enabling a 200-MPH top speed.  That’s huslte enough to make it the fastest production Mustang ever.

Even the base price of the 2013 Shelby Mustang is well out of my reach but that won’t deter me from visiting the configuration platform.  If you can dream it up, you can design it on the new Mustang designer.  I think I’ll try again with more traditional colors.

Yesterday I saw a black GTi rolling around on blue wheels. It was awful looking. Enough to give your Mustang above a run for its money…
