…would be an Azure?

In a moment of marketing genius Bentley bequeathed the name of last year’s topless beauty to the new convertible version of the Bentley Mulsanne.  All we can say, is awesome!

Hitting showroom floors in 2012, this beautiful automobile will be packing the same punch as its predecessor with the 505hp, 6.75 Liter Twin-turbo V8. We just drooled a little.   While the Azure’s eight-speed automatic gearbox transfers that brute force to the rear-wheels rocketing you from 0-60 mph in 5 seconds.  Not even Romeo could woo Juliet that fast.

No official details have been released yet on price, but making a best guess with the Daily Derbi Guesstimator spits out about $345,000 placing the keys firmly in your hand. Disclaimer: Daily Derbi Guesstimator is based loosely on a random number generator, whose result is multiplied by the average milligrams of caffeine we have consumed for the day. Where we’re we?  Ah yes, the exterior.

The Azure exterior demonstrates a design prowess that only Bentley can provide.  We have always assumed that Bentley’s designers merely round off the edges of a block of clay, slap on tires, headlights and a windshield, and call it good.  We have to admit, we have never seen a block of clay look sexier.

Having seen the photos sprinkled across the web of the new Azure, we assume that the interior will be just as brilliant as the exterior.  Expect smooth lines, supple leather and a craftsmanship of the upmost quality granting the Azure every right to bare the winged B of the Bentley brand.
