Bertone Mantide is the ugliest looking and named supercar today
By Chad Waite | December 12, 2009

This is the 10-unit production Bertone Mantide and don’t worry- you’re not alone. Upon the first time hearing this name most people conjure up the image of a horde of scantly-clad homosexuals rolling onto a sandy beach as well. And if you really, really hate that name like I do, I highly recommend not looking at the car. It gets worse.
This mutant wagon of angles started life as a perfectly good Corvette ZR1, perhaps one of the greatest supercars ever made. All of these extreme angles your seeing are the result of a team of Bertone scientists trying to make the car as aerodynamic as possible. And guess what- they did it. At its max speed of 218mph the Maletide generates 30% more down force than the ZR1. But it damn well better perform because whoever buys that car has sacrificed any desire for elegant looks, dignity, womanly attention and $2 million dollars.
Now if you’d allow a moment for your author to speak personally I’d just like to point out that the Bertide Mantron is twenty- yes, twenty- times the price of a Corvette ZR1 and nearly twice the price of the Bugatti Veyron.
It’s been said that buying a supercar is an irrational experience and I fully agree with this, but the Mantide (I really, really, really hate that name) takes this theory to the next level and proves that at least two people in the world have no idea what the hell to do with their money.

I’ve gotta admit, that side view looks awesome. And the back actually has some futuristic allure of craziness. But holy crap what did they do to the front… and at that price, why can’t it fly?
Mantide… gay. Aaah.
