Blip: Lamborghini Aventador Spyder

Lamborghini Aventador Spyder

What could possibly be better than doing 0-60 MPH in a Lamborghini Aventador under wide open throttle?  Doing it with the top down, of course.  Officially, the Aventador Spyder will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.  Yet according to, there is already one on sale.  For a hefty $450,000, she can be yours.  I’ve considered donating an organ just to have a track day with one of these babies, so it’s not hard to believe that someone with the right amount of swag would pick one up early.

The Aventador is a masterpiece of angular art and should be around for quite some time as super cars tend to have a life span of around ten years, although they have been getting shorter of late.  Probably due to the accelerated rate in the advancement of technology.  Either way, expect the Aventador to be Lambo’s flagship until 0-60 in 2.9 seconds becomes passé.

I like many things topless. Supercars are not one of those things. Keep the top, keep the rigidity.

I agree on the rigidity point but the sound from the cockpit with the top down must be surreal.

Totally!  We have 4, well, 3 as of yesterday, R8s in our showroom.  2 of which are Spyders.  They all sound the same outside, but inside, the Spyder sounds just down right awesome in comparison!  Plus, with the exception of the DB9, most convertible high performance cars these days are designed with a convertible in mind right off the bat and they don’t little, if any difference in performance in the real world.
