BMW’s New 6-Series Coupe Is Penelope Cruz Gorgeous

Human minds can change very quickly. Take for instance the new BMW 6-Series. When we first told you about it back in September, we hated it. It looked bland and not at all the grand departure from the old ‘Bangle-butt’ sixers we had gotten so used to for the last couple of year. Fast forward to today and our (mine) opinions on the 2012 BMW 6-Series have essentially done a J-turn following a torrent of new pictures straight from zee Germans.

It’s amazing what a few tweaks can do, because this is one of the best looking BMWs in years and years. It’s long, it’s low, and it’s very sleek; a vehicular Penelope Cruz methinks. It also bears a 650i badge, and for those of you who are thinking ‘wow, that thing has a 5-liter engine!’, you’ll be “disappointed” to find that it’s only a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8. Oh well. We’ll just have to live with the 4.8 second 0-60 time and only 400hp. Damn, sarcasm doesn’t transfer online.

On an even better note than Penelope Cruz and V8s, BMW had decided to offer it with a proper 6-speed manual gearbox, something that has been on the outs for so long, kids think “manual” refers to the owners guide in the glovebox.

That’s just the tip of the new features iceberg though. In traditional BMW style, the press release for the new 650i is a mini version of War & Peace, so needless to say we’re not even close to reporting all the cool things (aka things that can break) about this car. Totally agreed! I still don’t like the back, but it looks so much better than the last one. It’s low, long, and beautiful. C’mon M6! I still submit that it’s the most useless car in the world, though. :)
