Ferrari 599XX debuts on track and OMG…

There is a distinct difference between seeing a high performance supercar in the constraints of a showroom floor and seeing the same car turned loose on its home stomping ground at the track. Such was the case yesterday when Ferrari debuted its 599XX on the tarmac of Ricardo Tormo circuit outside of Valencia, Italy. The lead car, driven by Ferrari’s own Felipe Massa, was joined by six others for a day of smoking tires and glorious engine noise.

And what would a post about Ferrari’s newest track-tuned race car be without a few stats? Under the big hood rest a big Italian V12 with an even bigger number of ponies– over 700 at 9,000RPM. Just like the FXX, the 599XX will be extremely limited and given only to select clientele deemed worthy by Ferrari. Only 20-30 are planned for production, but that can’t stop us from wanting one…
