Gran Turismo 5 makes Forza 3 look boring and underdeveloped

For the car lover with money there are cars. For the car lover with no money there are video games- specifically Sony’s upcoming Gran Turismo 5. Only three weeks after release, the GT5 demo has already hit 1 million downloads and judging by the screenshots, this game offers a lot to be excited about.

Side by side its competitor Forza 3, GT5 scores higher marks in several areas. Better graphics- check. Nearly 1000 cars with unique tuning options- check. Over 20 different tracks (not just track variations)- check. The detail put into each and every vehicle is absolutely overwhelming, with each car recreated down to a tee, both externally and internally.

But the coolest part of GT5 is, without a doubt, the game’s use of the PlayStation Eye. Using this small camera, players can look around the cockpit by simply moving their head, as if in a real car. AWESOME!

It looks like video games really are suitable substitutions for cars.

From a playability standpoint… I still like Need For Speed:Shift more.

I wasn’t able to get into Shift. Forza3 was more my cup of tea.

Britton I tried so long to think of a reply to your comment but failed.

PS I don’t think anyone in the world owns a PS3.
