Hybrid Beetle Coming From V-Dub

VW has announced today that the 45mpg mark will no longer be a stranger to zee Germans, coming in the form of a very interesting (except not really) hybrid Beetle. On top of this new eco-friendly (except not really) design, VW claims that the bug will have a brand new “radical” design for the next generation.
No word yet on when we’ll be seeing these new green bugs but we guarantee the Daily Derbi will be watching this development with a keen eye (except not really).
But while we’re all waiting for the first hybrid Beetle to roll of the line, we have plenty of time to make up appropriate marketing slogans that VW should use but probably won’t be interested:
- “The new hybrid Beetle. Now you can look far more stupid for far more miles.”
- “The new hybrid Beetle. Because the first generation of German engineering is bulletproof.”
- “The new hybrid Beetle. An eco-friendly solution that’s fun (except not really)!”
- “The new hybrid Beetle. Why the hell not?”
Of course there is the ever classic James May description of the VW Beetle:
- “The new Beetle. Celebrating over half a century of Europe’s greatest mass murderer.”
Let’s hope that VW decides to stop this eco-friendly nonsense and make something useful like this most excellent mobile pool table! Hat tip to Justin and Steph K for the tips
