2013 GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing

Last weekend, Miller Motorsports Park hosted the GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing series for round 6 of this incredible 2-wheeled action that spans North America. For those that may not know, AMA Pro Racing consists of 4 classes of production based motorcycles. AMA Pro National Guard, AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike, AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com, and AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series.

On Sunday’s National Guard SuperBike class, reigning champ Josh Hayes suffered a crash early in the race, allowing Martin Cardenas and Rodger Hayden to put on a incredible battle. With Hayden suffering mechanical issues in the last laps, Cardenas was able to reach the finish line first.

In the GoPro Daytona SportBike series, Cameron Beaubier took top honors for the both races in the weekend. This brings Beaubier’s wins total to nine for the season. Matching total wins of Cardenas from the 2012 season. Rather impressive!

In the entry level Motorcylce-Superstone.com SuperSport class, rookie Joe Roberts took home the honors of Sunday’s race. His fifth win in five races. Oh, did we mention that he is only 16 years old?

In the recently formed Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series, running a spec-modified Harley-Davidson XR1200, Steve Rapp took the win. In fact, Rapp led every lap. This is Setve Rapp’s 4th consecutive win of the season.

Next stop for AMA Pro Road Racing? Red Bull Indianapolis GP at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

And lastly, we would like to thank the staff at Miller Motorsports Park with all their help and support during race weekend. Very much appreciated!

Enjoy the the collection of photos from both Saturday and Sunday’s races!
