2012 Winter X - Audi R8 GT

Spring is almost here. You can almost smell the racing fuel, rubber, and heat raising from the asphalt. The sound of engines revving just past their redlines. The squeals of tires being asked to grip just a bit more as you’re pushing you car right to the edge. You feel it – the regular racing season is JUST around the corner.

So what did die hard racers do during the winter? Play Forza 4 or Gran Turimso 5? Pfft.. They get off the couch and RACE.

Sleet, snow, mud, rain, dirt, sun, ice…Nissan GT-R, Audi R8 GT, Ford Focus..it doesn’t matter. Just another obstacle overcome. Another level of racing to experience. One that you just can’t ‘do’ virtually.

Welcome to WinterX at Miller Motorsports Park.

Awesome post. You wouldn’t know it from the pictures that this is an event in middle of winter in Utah.

That GT40 replica is awful. I saw it out there at a Wide Open Wednesday once. From afar it looks legit, until you realize he’s “rocking 20 chrome blades, player!”

They actually looked like 18in Saleen Mustang wheels from 99-04.  could be wrong though.  The car looks fine from the back and even the side(minus the wheels) but the front is what really gives this thing away as being a fake.

Definitely a shotty looking ride… yuck.  Now that GT-R on the other hand.  Yessssss.
