Infinity Will Definitely, Perhaps, Maybe Build a GT-R!

2012 Nissan GT-R

Let’s start off with a quick fact. If you want the most indisputable amount of performance for the lowest dollar then your answer is clearly the Nissan GT-R. The car’s got crazy numbers across the performance board with a price tag on par with a fully-loaded Cadillac Escalade ESV. You choose- the douchey family carrier or the super fast supercar.

Now, Infinity is wanting in on the success of the GT-R and is reportedly thinking about building a more luxurious version of Godzilla. Basically a GT-R Escalade. A Gescal-R if you will.

In terms of luxury, the GT-R does leave some room for improvement (butt massaging seats, anyone?). But on the performance side of things, it’s really very hard to see how Infinity could trump Nissan. After all, the 2012 GT-R already packs a whopping 530 horsepower and a 0-60 time of just 2.9 seconds- that’s Bugatti Veyron territory right there.

Of course, none of that means we’re not fully encouraging Infinity to try. As is the norm though, none of this is confirmed and it’s yet another blip from the Nissan/Infinity rumor machine.
