Forza 4 Porsche Expansion Pack

For Forza 4 players everywhere, the one gaping hole the world’s best driving simulator couldn’t fill was the absence of the most successful manufacturer in motorsports history: Porsche. In other words, anyone wanting their digital dose of 911s, Boxsters, Caymens, Carrera GTs, 917s and the lot was SOL.

So why were Porches missing from a game about racing? The 10-second summary answer is that EA (Electronic Arts), the minds behind the craptacular Need For Speed series, had exclusive rights to use Porsche’s (digital) cars. And there was a snowball’s chance in hell that they were going to give up those rights to a competitor, especially when that competitor’s game is a serious racing simulator as opposed to a glimpse into Michael Bay’s mind turned Xbox game.

Fast forward to today and past some legal wizardy, insults, hell freezing over and bodily threats (we assume), and the Porsche name is now returning to Forza with the Porsche Expansion Pack. The downloadable pack features the 30 Porsche vehicles from beloved classics to modern-day racecars, all of which are listed below:

  • 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder
  • 1970 Porsche 914/6

Before you get too excited, be warned that the expansion pack costs an outlandish $20.00, making it basically a third of the original cost of the game itself. So….just how much is getting behind the wheel of those flat-six engines worth to you? Maybe this video of live action Porsche Forza goodness will help you decide:
