It’s Official! Karting Is The Best Way To Help A Charity
By Chad Waite | May 29, 2010
We have all heard the common assumption that Utahans aren’t very good drivers. Now, we’re certainly not here to argue for or against it. What we can tell you though, is that at yesterday’s Daily Derbi Karting For Charity Day, the people on the track proved this assumption false.
From 4PM-8PM yesterday night, the Miller Motorsports Park karting facility was alive with the sound of Daily Derbi readers racing around the track while simultaneously contributing to the NuSkin Nourish the Children program. But good deeds and civic responsibility aside, the coveted Daily Derbi “You’re Awesome At Karting Trophy” was up for grabs, going home with the person who put up the fastest lap time around the Miller track. And the winner, you ask? Heck, we’ll give you the top three, complete with fastest lap times:
1st Place: Blake L, 42.425
2nd Place: Josh K, 42.6
3rd Place: Jordan R, 43.3
A huge thanks goes out to everyone who took the time to come out and support this event. We really appreciate it- so much, in fact, that we hope to make this an annual event! Also, a very special thanks to the Miller Motorsports Park karting staff for being so helpful, enthusiastic, and willing to help us host such a stellar event. Those folks are what really help make the karting experience at MMP such an amazing time.
Were you there racing karts? Tell us your thoughts on the event below or talk to us on Facebook or Twitter!
