Melanie and Madison Snow to Race Rolex 24
By Chance Hales | January 22, 2013
Racing season is just around the corner. As usual, kicking off the season is the festivities at Daytona International Speedway. The Daily Derbi usually doesn’t bring you coverage since the main event, the Daytona 500, is not in our particular interests. This year is no different. We are however, interested in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. This year Melanie and Madison Snow are teaming together to become the first mother/son team to compete. You may remember Madison having won the Utah Grand Prix at the age of 15 and then again last year at 16. What better way to move up the ranks and compete at Daytona!
Melanie Snow and her husband, Martin, made history back in 1999 at the 12 Hours of Sebring when they became the first husband and wife team to win an endurance race. You may also recognize her name from the Robertson Racing team which competed in ALMS with a Ford GT.
This year they will be racing in the Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car (top) and were interviewed by Salt Lake City’s, Good Things Utah, prior to the upcoming race. The event takes place this Saturday and Sunday and will be broadcasted in full on SPEED. Live coverage begins 3pm EST and 12 PST.

It’s great to see Utah being represented so well. They also got a decent spot in qualifying yesterday.
