Two of the most noteworthy cars of 2011 made it out to Utah International Auto Expo. The Ferrari FF and Fisker Karma are virtual opposites both in looks and mechanics. While the FF packs a massive 660hp from a gas guzzling V12 wrapped in bizarre body work, the Fisker Karma replaces blunt performance for an extra set of doors and sexy body lines that would make even Scarlett Johansson’s backside jealous. Here’s how they looked under the showroom lights at the South Town Expo center over the weekend:
And then there’s the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet…
Short and sweet this weekend…
I’ve talked about Grand-Am Daytona Prototypes before, so I won’t do a complete recap. I will say this Daytona Prototype is ran by Michael Shank Racing. It’s powered by a Roush Yates power plant, producing the spec ~500HP, mated to a 5 speed transmission, and tipping the scale at 2,300lbs.

Can you believe that the Chevy Corvette has been around for over 60 years now? As a true American motoring icon, the car that wears the cross flags as an emblem has gone through six generations over the years yielding plenty of special editions and one-offs.
Now, Chevy is celebrating the Corvette’s 60th birthday with a special convertible that will be- you guessed it- limited. But unlike other special editions that just feature new paint colors and an extra radio station preset, this Vette gets the 427-cubic-inch LS7 motor from the track focused ZO6. And that means 505-horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque all on demand at the rear wheels.
Chevy says it should top out at 190-mph and nix 0-60 in just 3.8 seconds. For those of you wondering, yes, this is by far and away the fastest Corvette convertible ever made.
The first model will be auctioned off for charity at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson classic auctions should you want it and have a couple spare stacks of cash needing to disappear.

Racing in the Rolex GT class, this Porsche GT3 car has a 3.6 Liter boxer 6, producing 420 bhp, similar in specs to ALMS GTC class Porsches.
Some background on this team. In July 2011, one of the owners of the team, Gregory Loles, pleaded guilty to a count of mail fraud, wire fraud, securities fraud, and a count of money laundering. Basically running a $10 million dollar ponzi scheme, with some of the money going towards the race team.
Proof that, even in this “gentle men’s (and women) sport” of racing, corruption can rear it’s ugly head.
