We’ve talked many times here at Daily Derbi about ways to get on the track and get started as an honest-to-goodness racer. Rather it be for recreational purposes, or gunning for the pros, one thing that everyone needs is “seat time”. Time on the track, learning your skill, learning your car, learning how to handle your car in a variety of situations.
With Old Man Winter knocking on our door on this side of the planet, those opportunities at seat time are harder to come by. For those that live in and around Utah, Miller Motorsports Park offers a wonderful chance to keep refining those skills during the “off season”. Enter “Winter X”.
What exactly is “Winter X”. Well, to quote there website: “WinterX (Wintercross) is a mix of rally, autocross and road racing on the world-famous Miller Motorsports Park road course..”. And this is not your standard SCCA Autocross event. This time around, you don’t have to work the event. You run in your run group, then sit back and enjoy a warm beverage whilst you watch the other run group tackle the course. To top it off, it’s affordable.
We would like to thank the fine folks at Miller Motorsports Park with their help with over the weekend.
Below is a collection of photos from the November 16th running.
