2013 Le Mans 24 Hour - #2 Audi Sport Team Joest R18 E-Tron Quattro

After 12 hours of racing the #2 Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro is leading the race!

12 hours done, 12 hours to go. The saddest news to come out of this years Le Mans is the death of Danish driver Allan Simonsen of Aston Martin Racing. No one wants to have a race marred by such tragedy. And it’s sad to have a freak accident like this, take away such a talented driver. From all of us here at Daily Derbi, our heart felt condolences to his friends and family.

As the hours have progressed, we have seen some incredible back in forth between the GTE-Pro Porsches and Aston Martins. In LMP1, Audi has had some challenges with two of their R18 e-tron cars. Toyota had to “reboot” one of their hybrids on track. At the time of this writing the the #2 Audi is still leading the race, with the #7 Toyota is 2nd and the #8 Toyota in 3rd.

ALMS teams of Corvette Racing and SRT Viper in GTE-Pro seem to struggle against against the Aston Martins, Ferraris and Porsches. Also, at the time of this writing, the top ranked Corvette is 7th in class and the SRT Viper 10th.

Below is a live feed of the race.
