Racing Blip: Petit Le Mans

#6 Muscle Milk

Fire up the Xbox for ALMS’s swan song this weekend. The 15th running of Petit Le Mans, held at Road Atlanta. 10 hours or 1,000 miles. Which ever comes first.

Joining the stable of ALMS cars will be some competitors from ELMS (European Le Mans Series) and WEC (World Endurance Championship). This is truly, one of the rare times we get some of the best racers from across the world, to race on our soil.

What to watch for?

P1 battle will be intense, as usual. BUT, there are more cars in P1 (FINALLY). Has Muscle Milk worked out all their little gremlins? Has Dyson Racing solved the over heating problems with their flybrid system? Or will Rebellion Racing just walk away with a win, as a warm up to their last WEC race in China next week?

And we can’t forget GT. Still the best racing on the planet. Last race at VIR, Corvette Racing clinched the Driver, Manufacture, and Team Championship. Second place is still hotly contested. The #01 ESM Ferrari laid down an impressive 1:18.729 to grab pole position today. Less then 0.25 seconds behind the Ferrari was the #55 Team RLL BMW. The SRT Vipers are starting to show their strength. Expect the Porsches, Corvettes, and Lotus fighting for every inch of the track.

And lastly, the #0 Nissan DeltaWing. Will it get punted again, like during practice or at Le Mans? Or will it actually finish?

ABC will broadcast a condensed version of the 10 hour race on Sunday, 10/21 @ 1pm EDT

Live HD streaming of all 10 hours will start on Saturday, 10/20 @ 11:15am EDT on ESPN3 and XBox ESPN3 app.

Or hit up ALMS’s site for more ways.

The ever handy spotters guide.
