Got the keys to your Dads new Viper while he’s out of town?  Have a Civic Si and a grudge against a cross town rival? Don’t take it out on the street, bring it to the track!  As we reported before certain TV shows are making people put their money where their mouth is. Local drag strip Rocky Mountain Raceway gives that same opportunity to anyone interested with their Midnight Drag series starting this Friday at 11pm (weather permitting). Now you can add some bragging rights to your next Cars and Coffee appearance.

RMR has successfully run the Midnight Drag series for the last few years in attempt to help put street racing where it belongs, on the track.  We here at the Derbi commend them for their efforts as they provide a safe, sanctioned environment for people to settle their grudges and see what their car can really do.

Think you have a 10 second car?  Pony up the $10 and get to RMR early to pass tech and you can put on your best Paul Walker impression as many times as you can cram in before 2am.  If your car isn’t quite up to snuff, for $7 you can watch all the hoonage unfold before your eyes.  Spectators are also treated to amateur drifting around the oval track during the drags just to make sure everyone is entertained. Of course if you think you have what it takes to be “DK” (lame Tokyo Drift reference), you too can throw your 1986 Cressida sideways into the corners for around $35 with pre-registration.

We would enter our trusty Ford Escort but we don’t want to put the competition to shame with our sub 9 second runs! See you at the races!
