Sony Reveals Gran Turismo 5 Collector’s Edition

We love gaming. If it involves cars or guns we love it even more! We’ve been patiently waiting for what seems like millennia for the next installment of Sony’s fabled driving simulator series, Gran Turismo 5. As we stated during a past demo release, Gran Turismo is perfect for the car lover with no money.  We’ve been quite depressed having no money and no GT5 to play.

Sony has finally recognized this and is throwing us all a bone with the Gran Turismo 5 Collector’s Edition set to release on November 2nd. Sony finally committed to this release date back in June during E3, and unlike the other 4 or 5 previous release dates, this one is legit.

The GT5 Collector’s Edition comes complete with a 1:43 scale Nissan GTR Spec V, a 300-page “car lovers guide”, keychain, and 5 downloadable cars all in a giant box.  What are the 5 special downloadable cars you ask?-

  • 427 Cobra
  • Audi R8 5.2 FSI
  • Mercedes 300 SL
  • M3 Coupe
  • Lamborghini LP 640

These special cars all come with “collector’s edition” paint schemes complete with a healthy dose of chrome and racing stripes oddly reminiscent of a 1992 Ford Escort.

Get all of this nerdy, fan-boy fantastico for only $99 come November 2nd. If you think that’s a bit steep for all the collector accouterment, keep in mind that our cousins across the pond might have to pay a whopping 180 Euro or roughly $240!
