Tesla Model X Makes $40 Million In 24 Hours

By | February 20, 2012

Tesla Model XA little over a week ago Tesla revealed the new Model X.  Although I still have mixed feelings about its styling, but the rest of the world seems to love it!  Tesla reports that within 24 hours of revealing the prototype they had $40 million worth of pre-orders.  To break that down– to order the base model you have to put in a $5,000 deposit.  For the top trim level, which comes with the larger batteries, requires a $40,000 deposit.  That puts the total pre-ordered units between 5,000 and 6,000.  Very impressive numbers after only 24 hours!  Tesla also says that web traffic to their own website went up 2800% the night of the unveiling.
