The Italian Job

By | December 21, 2010

Italian Tuner Romeo Ferraris has tuned the Fiat 500 to 260 horsepower. Power increases were obtained by a larger front mount intercooler, new ECU and exhaust upgrades. The top line package for the 500 is called the 500 Abarth Estremo. And Estremo it is!

The Estremo package is more than just ridiculous horsepower increases — it is all that — plus a bag of chips. The 500 has also been blessed with a limited-slip differential, an adjustable suspension, 17 inch rims and Brembo brakes. Plus the requisite exterior enhancements that let you know this isn’t just Luigi from the movie Cars.

Some might think that 260 horsepower is not a lot, but to put things in perspective the 1999 to 2004 Ford Mustang GT had 260 horsepower and weighed at least 1200 pounds more than the Fiat 500. Small cars with big power is what we love here at The Daily Derbi!

Oh the cars that never come to America. If we got the cool stuff I think more people would go to eco boxes.

I’d buy this. Especially if it came with Mark Wahlberg and Edward Norton.
