The Saga Continues: Porsche Takes The Roof Off Panamera

Convertible Porsche Panamera

Lets pose a hypothetical situation. You’re a dad with two children and a trophy wife. You’ve landed that big that big account at work and have some extra money in the account to buy that car that says “I am successful and financially secure.” You’re hairline has recceeded past the point of  “I care” so a convertible is definitely in the mix. And you know that no matter what car your choose your family will want to be a part of the motoring action.

Only one car fits as a solution to this situation and unfortunately it doesn’t exist…till now. Porsche has revealed to AutoCar magazine that the roof on their 4-door Panamera will be coming off, making way for a convertible version of the already hideous looking vehicle. Why? We’re asking the same question.  Obviously there is a market for this convertible supercar but it’s also obvious that investors and not car lovers run Porsche now. But luckily for everyone who thinks the car is as awful as we do take comfort in the fact that the convertible Panamera is still a year or two away.

This may be blasphemy… but I think that a convertible version would look fine. The part they are removing was the bad part of the car in my opinion. I actually don’t like other Porsche convertibles though (they look like stinkbugs), so we’ll see.

Actually I kind of agree with you to some extent. From that shot that Porsche released the car looks great. But look at it from a profile view and it will look really long and really awkward.
