Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster revealedHow do you make an already sexy car sexier?  Simple!  Take the top off!  The long awaited Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster is finally here!  It features all the same things as the “normal” version but adds that wind-in-your-hair, toupee launching pleasure of going 217mph without a roof.  The glorious sounding 6.5 liter, 700 raging bullpower V12 is now ready for open-top, tunnel blasting for your satisfaction.

The new two-piece roof is made of carbon fiber is a practically weightless 13 lbs.  In true Raging Bull manner, the roof must be removed by hand and stores in a compartment in the front storage compartment.  It is said to be easy to install.  Of course, Lamborghini said the same thing about the Murcielago’s tent-of-a-top…

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster Carbon Fiber RoofLike any convertible version, the chassis gets some strengthening which of course adds weight.  To counter the added fat, Lamborghini gave the car new wheels which weigh 22 lbs less than the originals.  So, hold on to your hats, whigs, and toupees while driving on the track.  You might also want to prepare for your wallet to feel considerably lighter as it is expected to cost around $381,000 before additional goodies.

UPDATE: A video has surfaced showing just how easy the roof is installed.  Simply snap them in place!

I actually LOVE that. Funny because I generally have a distaste for spyder versions of high performance cars, but the recent spyder versions of the 458 Italia, McLaren MP4-12C and this are absolutely beautiful.

Did you see the Update I added? The top is extremely easy to install. Simple as two clicks basically. And I agree with you on convertibles. They have gotten very pretty recently.
