Utah Event: World Superbike Championship

***Come out to the Daily Derbi Karting for Charity Day this Thursday, May 27th!***
A vehicle with half the wheels of a car can be thought of by some as half the fun. Unless it’s traveling at 200 miles per hour. Then it’s just as fun, if not more. And that’s just what you’ll be getting this weekend as the Miller Motorsports Park presents the HANNspree/FIM Superbike World Championship.
Sure, this is a car blog, but we must say that anything traveling at 200 miles per hour will catch our attention, including those two-wheeled bike things. Starting Saturday, May 29, MMP will yet again play host to a handful of people who love speed more than us and have little left to live for…or so we assume. Seriously though, if you haven’t seen these bikes and their riders blasting around the bends, prepare to be stunned. You’ll be asking the same question we are: “How are these guys still alive…and how do we sign up?”
While the racing may start on Saturday, the party gets going Friday night with the free Kick-Off Party at the Gateway mall, including a GIANT motorcycle ride from the Capitol to Gateway Mall. Oh ya, Monday night Foreigner, Styx, and Kansas are all coming to play a huge concert after the races. Yes, please! So this weekend come sail away with us (gratuitous Styx reference) to MMP for irrational speed and the finest bands from the 80s.

Holy crap, that sounds awesome. I’m not a bike man, but I definitely appreciate the more straightforward racing lines that one set of wheels can take. I have infinite respect for someone that can powerslide on something that tips over (sorry Ford Explorer…I didn’t mean you)
