Video: This Is How Fast A Bugatti Veyron Really Is

Bugatti vs Nissan GT-R Drag Race

Compared to nearly every other car on the market, the Nissan GT-R is no Queen Latifah of a vehicle. It’s advanced all-wheel-drive system and 540+ horsepower takes it from a stand still to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds.

So, if you’re a GT-R owner/lover and don’t want to look like Queen Latifah, it would be wise to never challenge a Bugatti Veyron to a quarter mile drag race. According to the video below, you will absolutely, positively lose and by a lot.

The GT-R in the video somehow persuaded the owner of the black and blue Veyron to head down the Palm Beach International Raceway drag strip over the weekend. The results? Predictable, to say the least. Take a look at the video and get ready to see what 1000 German ponies can do to Japan’s finest.

It looked to me like the Bugatti started moving almost a full second before the GT-R, and the difference in their final times was .764 seconds. In a test of off-the-line acceleration, and not top-end speed, these two cars in particular (the GT-R was lightly modified) are more closely matched than this video seems to portray.

That being said, all the sources I could find¬†for stock configs¬†show the difference in 1/4 mile times to be about 1 second, so the end result isn’t really disputable.

Map props to the GT-R for doing so well on a budget!
