So, naturally a day after we run the story that there are official pics of the Ferrari 458 Spider, Ferrari releases a beautiful video detailing the action of the convertible hardtop.

Featured in the video, we get views from angles we’d only see by witnessing it in person. Fantastic production work and well worth having a look at.

It’s a bit more rugged and sharp than it’s smooth cousin, but what’s the consensus – does it pay adequate homage to the most beautiful exotic at the moment?

Ok, this is coming from the guy who just wrote an article on how the Miata should be a hardtop…..but…..I think I like the looks of the Spider 458 better. That jagged edge it gets when the top is down is so unbelievably attractive to me. For the most part I despise how the convertible versions of cars look (read Murano CrossCabriolet) but Ferrari has done an excellent job.

I’m not so much a fan. Not that it ruined the car so that it’s no longer sexy…it still is. It’s more like seeing Keira Knightley in a not-so-flattering haircut. It doesn’t mean you’re going to stop checking her out.
