This week’s Weekend Pick pits the world’s two prominent performance saloons against each other. First up is the Maserati Quattroporte. Tracing its roots back to 1963, the Quattroporte is currently in the 5th generation of design which gives a big V8, lots of real leather, and King Triton’s trident on the blingy front grill. The appeal of this, however, is a bit lost with the $120,000 price tag.
On the opposing side is the much more economical Porsche Hunchback Panamera, starting at a low price of $99,000! It’s new. It seats four. It’s a Porsche. That’s about all there is to know. And, technically speaking, it’s pretty much on par with the Quattroporte in every way. The Panamera weighs just 20 pounds more, its V8 generates virtually the same horsepower, and both top speeds are within 10 mph of each other.
Which would you have?

P.S. If you don’t like either you can choose this 4-seater beauty.

The Panamera reminds me of a Porsche, or what a Porsche should be & James Bond… if for some reason he needed a back seat… (maybe the next steamy scene in newest James Bond flick featuring a Panamera… I’m just sayin’) the Maserati Quattroporte reminds me of a Buick, I am sure its fast and glorious, but something tells me there are golf clubs in the trunk.

Agreed, Kevin. Old Ping golf clubs from the 40s…

This porsche is one of the worst looking cars I have ever seen. The Maserati isn’t that bad looking, it’s way better than the Porsche.

Since none of you wankers can afford any of these, I am happy to inform you that I own a Maserati QP and it is in a league of it’s own. Those who think it looks like a buick, know bugger all about cars…go back to your Nissan.
