2012 Audi A5 Cabriolet

The Audi A5 was introduced back in 2007 at the Geneva Motor Show.  The designer, Walter de Silva, claims it is the most beautiful car he ever created.  That says a lot considering he is the Head of Design for not only Audi, but the entire Volkswagen Group.  That includes Lamborghini, Bentley, and Bugatti!  Take one look at the A5 though and you’ll see what he is on about.  It really is fantastic looking.  Simple, yet elegant.

So what happens when you chop the top off?  In this case it looks just as good.  The base motor is the same 2.0L turbo four found in just about all of the current Audi models which produces 211hp.  While that isn’t a lot, it is still reasonably quick and you’ll look good doing it.  The 211hp hardly makes it a sports car though.  If you want that then get the S5 version which comes with a 3.0L supercharged V6 which is good for 333hp or you can get the RS5 version which will be out later this year featuring a 450 horse 4.2L V8.  Prices start at $43,350 for the A5 Cabrio and can climb past $100k for a nicely optioned RS5 Cabrio.
