In honor of Johnny O’Connell taking the SCCA Pirelli World Challenge GT Driver championship AND Cadillac taking the Manufacture’s points this past Saturday, I thought it would be appropriate to showcase one of the two Cadillacs racing in that series.
Here is the #3 Cadillac CTS-V.R Coupe. Using the same engine as it’s street going version – sans super charger. This GM 6.2L NA V8 engine is restricted to around 460 hp, with torque around 477 lb.-ft (per SCCA regulations). It’s racing shoes are Pirelli 305/645×18 on the front and 315/675×18 on the rear. Stopping is handled by six-pot front calipers with 355mm rotors and four-pot calipers and a 328mm rotor on the rear, all by Brembo.
And if you’re thinking, this car looks familiar, you are correct, I’ve covered the 2011 version in the past.
Now that SCCA Pirelli World Challenge is in the books, what was your favorite racing moment of this season?
What is your favorite car in the series?
