4.0L Acura/HPD V8, 620+ hp, 370+ lb-ft of torque. Weighing a whopping 1984lbs (when wet behind the ears…)
Fast, light weight, tweaked for optimal performance in American Le Mans Series LMP1 class. Sister car to the 2009 Patrón Highcroft Racing Acura ARX-02a.
An excellent example of SPEED, defined on the track by man and machine.
The #66 car was ran by de Ferran Motorsports and driven by Gil de Ferran and Simon Pagenaud.
Gil de Ferren, the established veteran racer/team owner. From his days of kart racing, Formula Three, Champ Car, IRL IndyCar, Cart, then American Le Mans Series. Not to mention a few stints in Formula One as a driver, and later, a race director.
Simon Pagenaud, the “up and comer”. Starting off in the early 2000s French Formula Renault series, then to Champ Car Atlantic, and Champ Car. Since 2008, racing in ALMS, then adding Le Mans Series (as a factory Peugeot driver in 2009), and then adding Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (2010) and stints in 24 hours of Le Mans since 2008. This season, Pagenaud added racing in IndyCar, another stint at 24 hours of Le Mans, and continuing his rides in ALMS, Le Mans Series, and the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup Series. Busy Man!
