Competing in the Touring Car (TC) class of the Pirelli World Challenge is this Mazda RX8 owned by Matt Young Motorsports. The mechanical aspect of the car remains largely the same as it rolled off the assembly line with the only modifications allowed are a unrestricted exhaust system, 4-piston front disc brakes, and coil overs if it doesn’t require modification to the chassis. The clutch and flywheel are also upgraded as long as they maintain stock diameter. The same goes for the ECU which may be tuned but must remain OEM. Along with these modifications, the interior is stripped and a roll cage is added. The dash must remain in place but that is the only thing that keeps the interior looking as it once did. A carbon fiber hood may also be used to help save some weight. With all these modifications the car should see a power increase from 247hp to between 275-300hp.
