Wöhr Multiparker 730: The Vending Machine of Parking Systems

Hungary has always been at the forefront of innovation. Don’t believe me? Just look at the Rubik’s cube. Seriously, only a genius could come up with such a challenging TOY. Hungarian’s have once again donned their creative thinking caps in order to solve a growing parking dilemma in downtown Budapest. The end result is the Wörh Multiparker 730 parking system.

This revolutionary underground parking system is pretty much a super-sized vending machine for cars.  As you can see from the exciting and informational video the process is quite simple. Just park your car in an open bay, get a parking token and enjoy the rest of your day above ground.

The inner-workings of this system look to be quite extensive which begs the question, what happens if something goes wrong? What if your Mercedes gets stuck?  Do you shake the garage door like you would a vending machine? Unfortunately the video doesn’t really address any troubleshooting or back up plans but with multiple parking bays and “pallets” we’re sure those clever and innovative engineers put something in place.

This system could also be used to spice up your drive home from the office by playing parking token roulette with your co-workers. Maybe, if you’re lucky, you’ll score the boss’s GTR or 911 Turbo.  Other obvious benefits of this unique parking system include massive reductions in vandalism, dreaded door dings, and theft (unless, of course, someone steals your parking token).

Either way you look at it, the Wörh Multiparker 730 is a creative parking solution for a growing problem. Hat tip to Lane Johnson for the tip!

Seriously awesome – that rivals America for laziness and ingenuity. How cool would it be to never have to drive around for a parking space ever again?

Whoa! Seriously, what happens when something breaks or the power goes out. I gotta say though, this is pretty sick

Okay, I want one. And I really, really want to play the token roulette. That would be sick.
