Wuste 2010: A Eurotrashista’s Dream
By Brandon Christiansen | June 20, 2010
During one of the few summer-like days in early June, 30+ Utah Euro fans got together to make the 300+ mile trek to Las Vegas and the holy land of all things Euro- Wuste.
Wuste is a 3 day free registration car show for Euro car fans from all over the Western U.S. and Canada. Enthusiasts traveled this year to the host hotel, Palace Station, who had lovingly cordoned off the top 3 floors of their parking garage for show. The first day of the show was a meet and greet as everyone rolled in and got settled. After checking in show goers proceeded to check out each others’ cars and boy were there some amazing rides.
The first car to pop up on our radar was a flat green air force themed wide body BMW M3 that had a little more oomph under the hood, thanks to the addition of a supercharger. Then we spotted what has to be one of the cleanest and lowest Audi A3’s we’ve seen, thanks to a custom airbag suspension and countless hours of love and attention.
On day 2, show participants were treated to a cruise up Mt. Charleston allowing them to prove that their cars were not just all show and no go. After the 100 mile rally, participants put their best foot forward for the 4th annual People’s Choice Show and Shine, King of the Desert, and Double Down- an award strictly for the best car on an air suspension. The awards ceremony was held on day 3, awarding the many different categories including best Audi, best VW, people’s choice and more. A matte white Audi S4 from our very own Utah took home best Audi honors with another Utahn coming in a close 3rd.
After all the awards had been given, the local Audi/Lamborghini dealership put on a farewell BBQ where we all parted ways until next year. If you love European cars and want to see what’s new in the Euro scene, we highly recommend you mark your calendars for next year’s Wuste show.
